CARLOTA was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal and started dancing when she was 3 years old. Her father, João Maria Tudella, was a famous Portuguese singer, musician and entertainer and her mother a former gymnastics teacher, so naturally she was born into an artistic family. Music was always around growing up, and the influence of her parents in her style is obvious as she grew up watching old movies with Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse, listening to Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin and many more.
She started her professional training in the National Dance Conservatory in Lisbon where she graduated at the age of 18. At this time, mainly a ballet/contemporary dancer, she decided to audition for SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance) Portugal, making it to the final 4. This was a pivot moment in her career. From then on, she started working professionally on TV shows, music concerts, films such as shows like “The Voice”, “The Voice Kids”, “Dancing with the Stars”, “LipSync Battle”, “Eurovision Song Contest”, “Rock in Rio”, “Golden Globes” or “Dance With Me”.
In 2016 she made her debut in musical theatre with Filipe La Feria’s company, moving on to being in the cast of “Grease” in 2018, and later in “Chicago” where she played the role of Liz and was also the dance captain from 2019 - 2021.
In 2024 Carlota joined the cast of the Broadway musical “Moulin Rouge! - Das Musical” in the German company as Ensemble/Heels 1.
In January 2021 she released her first single with The Lost Trio called “Feeling The Rain on Me”.
